The latest generation of Intel’s Atom, which is called ‘Pine Trail’, it came sooner than expected. Intel said the platform for the netbook atom and nettop was introduced to the public on December 21, 2009.
At the center of Pine Trail platform, Intel processor presents codenamed ‘Pineview’. Unlike previous products, Pineview will integrate the DDR2 memory controller, graphics processor, and video decoding processor by Broadcom into a single package.
Interestingly, these new processors will support x86 and x64 systems. As a result-based netbook or nettop this platform could be planted more than 4GB of RAM. This is a significant improvement compared to the current generation of netbooks as if fixed at 2GB. Read the rest of this entry »
