Samsung plans to issue Corby, touch-screen gadget is focused on the use of Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. The phone is expected to absorb the youth market of social networking users. South Korea-based company said that Corby has a touch screen 2.8-inch size will enter the European market later this month.
Handset that can access a profile on Facebook, send a tweet from Twitter and watch videos via YouTube by simply touching the screen. Other additional features include 2.0 MP camera, MP3 player and FM radio. Because the segment devoted to teenagers, chasing Corby has two-tone design with color choices like Jamaican Yellow, Pink Cupid, Minimal White and Orange Festival.
“We see the importance of social networks in the industry of modern mobility,” said JK Shin, Head of Sony Ericsson mobile. “The design and usability of Corby needs a high digital connection and the style of teenagers.”
The popularity of social networks has spurred the growth of smartphones like the Apple iPhone and Research In Motion BlackBerry. Handset makers Samsung, Nokia and Motorola too late in its development, and now they are trying to integrate Facebook and Twitter into their tools.
After the first quarter revenues decreased 72% Samsung began to focus themselves with the development of touch-screen smartphone. In February, Nokia said it would hold Facebook as a direct partner and integrate its services into the largest phone maker.
Samsung said Corby would be off to the European market later this month at a price of U.S. $ 215.
