I agree with Nightstar in the durability part of the answer. Here's the reasons they dominated the market. By the way, they are not leading as much as they used to. But one of the first reasons they made it so big was that they Made durable phones that were easy to take apart and most of thier repeat models used many of the same parts. I remember when the same antenna could be used on 5 different nokia models that were manufactored at different times. Second, they invented user friendliness in the cell phone market. Before Nokia and all of thier pictures, cell phone menus were a maze. They made it easy for stupid people to get phones and figure out how to use them. Kinda like Microsoft did with the PC. Another reason is that when the world decided to go GSM, Nokia decided to capitalize on this and become a leading GSM company so the reason Nokia is the biggest cell phone man. in the world is because they are all over the world. Motorola got too big too fast when celll phones were first invented and forgot about inovation. They made the same phone over and over and over. Lastly, the reason they are huge is because they are specialist. Look up any of the other man.'s they all make something other than phones. Ericsson (Sony), samsung, motorola (walkie talkies). Nokia makes just phones, that's it. Hope this gave you more reasons to like them cuz it sounds like you already do.

I have an N79 here in England. To my horror it didn’t have the classic Nokia SMS alert that’s been around for years (the double beep-beep). It took me an hour to transfer it from my old 6280 (or N73). Had to transfer it to Nokia suite, then to N79. Couldn’t Bluetooth it for some reason.
yes you can set your own picture as wallpaper. I have my girlfriend staring out from behind the active standby “to do list” so I can’t see all of her!!
I have dropped it a number of times from about 4 feet up onto concrete sidewalks, and yet it still hasn’t broke. This phone is very durable, good size and has many features. Tomorrow I am getting the Nokia 5730! it has more features and a qwerty keyboard, but the downside is that it is a bit bigger. For those of you who are getting the N79, enjoy it, because you will.

the only diff really is n85 is flip
