intelpineviewThe latest generation of Intel’s Atom, which is called ‘Pine Trail’, it came sooner than expected. Intel said the platform for the netbook  atom and nettop was introduced to the public on December 21, 2009.

At the center of Pine Trail platform, Intel processor presents codenamed ‘Pineview’. Unlike previous products, Pineview will integrate the DDR2 memory controller, graphics processor, and video decoding processor by Broadcom into a single package.

Interestingly, these new processors will support x86 and x64 systems. As a result-based netbook or nettop this platform could be planted more than 4GB of RAM. This is a significant improvement compared to the current generation of netbooks as if fixed at 2GB.

As quoted from techpowerup, Wednesday (11/11/2009) The following is the latest line of processors are:

  • Intel Atom N450: single-core processors with Hyper-Threading, 1.66GHz, 512KB cache, x86-64, BGA437 package, with the price of U.S. $ 63.
  • Intel Atom D510: dual-core processors with Hyper-Threading, 1.66GHz, 1MB cache, x86-64, BGA437 package, with the price of U.S. $ 63.
  • Intel Atom D410: single-core processors with Hyper-Threading, 1.66GHz, 512KB cache, x86-64, BGA437 package, with the price of U.S. $ 43.

Further explained that the Atom N450 visited the market started on January 4, 2010, along with the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2010.
