Ericsson ready to deploy the technology trial Long Term Evolution (LTE) for the SingTel group that will begin in early 2010. This experiment is regarded as the initial springboard for the use of 4G technology that SingTel has mobile phone users more than 273 million people in Asia.
Ericsson will hold a high test data bandwidth and multimedia services that will include radio access network (Radio Access Network), packet core network structure (Evolved Packet Core Network), mobile backhaul solution (Mobile Backhaul Solutions) and operational support systems (Operations Support Systems) .
Executive Vice President for Network SingTel, Mark Chong Chin Kok said that this experiment LTE will make the company better understand the technologies LTE and prepare ourselves in offering our customers mobile broadband speeds and the fastest service available in the market.
“This is in line with SingTel’s transformation into a company that is the next generation multimedia solutions,” he said in a written statement quoted Saturday (28/11/2009).
This trial will be held at the same time also to other groups such as SingTel’s Globe in the Philippines, AIS (Thailand), Bharti Airtel (India), Warid (Pakistan), and do not forget to Telkomsel in Indonesia.
